Annette Cannon has dedicated most of her career to the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution.  After graduating from The University of Florida College of Law in 1990, Annette gained experience litigating Worker’s Compensation, Labor and Employment law cases, while representing a wide variety of insurance carriers and employers. 

In 1998,  Ms. Cannon was certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Circuit Court Civil Mediator, and began mediating with the Center For Conflict Resolution, where she would continue for over 18 years.  Ms. Cannon is also a certified Family Mediator and has been named to the panel of Registered Mediators for mortgage modification mediations for the United States Bankruptcy Court, Southern and Middle Districts. 

Ms. Cannon also serves as a Special Magistrate for the City of Miami Beach, adjudicating building code and zoning violations.  Annette is a member of the Miami Beach Bar Board of Directors and also sits on the board for Temple Beth Shalom Sisterhood. 

Having mediated thousands of cases, Annette has earned a reputation as a thought provoking, fair minded and assertive discussion leader.  She is well respected by both claimant/plaintiff attorneys and defense attorneys.  As a first generation Cuban American from a Jewish family, Annette has a unique ability to provide relatable perspective to litigants from a multicultural perspective.  She is also fluent in Spanish which further aids in the communication process.  Annette brings her years as an experienced neutral to The Mediation Group as a full time mediator for Worker’s Compensation cases, Labor and Employment matters, Family disputes and other civil matters.
